In den fast 10 Jahren seit seiner Eröffnung hat sich das ausland als Veranstaltungs- und Produktionsort für Konzerte, Performances, Lesungen, Soundinstallationen, Filme, Workshops und Diskussionen etabliert. ausland präsentiert und entwickelt verschiedene Veranstaltungsreihen und Formate: Générique - Open Source Performance, biegungen – eine Reihe für improvisierte Musik, eiskalt – eine Reihe für aktuelle, jugendverderbende Musik, Fernwärme - The making of performing arts, Trockenschwimmen - Workshops, Schleusen - eine Reihe für Theorie, Analyse, Kritik und Essay und radio tesla im ausland - eine Reihe zur Diskussion aktueller, historischer und zukunftsweisender Radioarbeiten. Zu den Festivals, die das ausland seit seinem Bestehen produziert und koproduziert hat, zählen u.a.: Dein Wort in Gottes Ohr (2008) – ein interdisziplinäres Festival zum Thema Religion im Zeitalter ihrer künstlichen Reproduzierbarkeit (in Koproduktion mit den Sophiensaelen), Sololala (2008) - ein Solofestival (Wiederaufnahme mit Werken von Alvin Lucier im Winter 2009), A Weekend at Hotel Tub (2008), Time Shifts (2007) – ein Festival zum Generationenkonflikt in der Musik, Irtijal - Berlin Edition (2007) - zwei Solinächte für das Beiruter Festival Irtijal, Erase and Reset (2006) - ein 12-Stunden- Marathon elektronischer Musik, not on air (2005) - ein Treffen Berliner und Brandenburger freier Radios, Vespers (2004) - eine Reihe von Film- und Videoarbeiten über experimentelle Musik und radioriff (2003) - ein einwöchiges Radiofestival. Neben den Reihen und Festivals präsentiert das ausland zahlreiche Einzelveranstaltungen, die nicht innerhalb einer der Reihen stattfinden und für sich stehen: Im ausland wurden Tanz- oder Musikperformances sowie medienübergreifende Projekte von u.a. Schauplatz International, Isabelle Schad, Fréderic Gies, Elliott Sharp, Stefan Roigk präsentiert und produziert. Anläßlich des 5. Geburtstags 2007 wurde eine Zwischenbilanz gezogen: 700 Veranstaltungen in 1500 Tagen mit 1000 KünstlerInnen aus 24 Ländern - und einem Publikum von 20.000 Menschen.

Since it´s opening nearly 10 years ago ausland has been established as a production and presentation space for concerts, performances, lectures, sound installations, films, workshops and discussions. We present various formats and series of events: Générique - Open Source Performance, biegungen - a series of concerts themed: Outlandish sounds for outspoken ears!, eiskalt - a series of unconventional pop, noise and rock, Fernwärme - The Making of Performing Arts, Trockenschwimmen - Tech Workshops, Schleusen - a series for theory, analysis, critics and essay, radio tesla - a series of lectures and discussions about radioworks, Way of the Dub - a series of dubstep nights. In 2010 we add to these series Play date -Lots of kids, two bands and a chance for parents to enjoy live music again, everybodys - a series of performance related events, an offspring of Générique.
Amongst others ausland has produced and co-produced the following festivals:  Sololala (2008/9) - The man with the horn and the empress of Sounds, Dein Wort in Gottes Ohr (2008) - an interdisciplinary festival about the rhetoric of religion, A weekend at Hotel Tub (2008), Time Shifts (2007) - old heroes and young stars from the world of experimental and improvised music, Irtijal - Berlin Edition, Benefit for the festival in Beirut (2007), erase and reset (2006) - a 12 hour marathon of electronic music, Akusmatischer Salon (2005), Not on air (2005) - a meeting of free radio initiatives, Vespers (2004) - film and video works in the field of experimental music, radioriff (2003) - the fulminant one week radio festival at ausland and on air.
Beside series and festivals ausland presents a lot of events that stand for themselves. We showed numerous dance and music performances and cross media projects by i.a. Schauplatz International, Isabelle Schad, Fréderic Gies, Elliott Sharp, Stefan Roigk. On the occasion of the 5th birthday of ausland we were taking stock: 700 events in 1500 days with 1000 artists from 24 countries - and an audience of 20.000 people. Be one of them!
